So I have a sword that needs Steel for research in tier 2, steel is tier 3 item?? I am sure someone say someone drops it, but after over 100+ hours of game play I have never seen steel. Just annoying bottleneck that's annoying https://imgur.com/lV9ARAr

Yeah, this is one of those things that really doesn't make sense IMO. Progression is super awkward sometimes.

Just like you need "resin" to research the building that produces Resin. Just don't make sense

You can purchase steel from Horndean and Resin from Farnworth (post-liberation)

But yes, crafting should be limited to only items you can produce in the same tier.

It is doable but just seems wrong imo, It forces you to liberate Farnworth which I'm not sure is the right move if you would prefer to build your settlement over liberation. Some people just want to build and research

You get pretty hardlocked without a laborer in Northern towns causing you to liberate far away towns, which increases the difficulty, but still very possible.

The the steel t2 weapons/Armor require significantly less resources than a t3 steel gear, it didnt make sense to me at first, until I saw the requirements of T3 and most of your villagers and yourself will not qualify for t3 gear even if you are ready to research it.

The game is not supposed to happen quickly, it expects you to take 'game' years to progress through a tier, and the difficulty of needing to protect towns farther away makes the game hard, which I like

My second liberation was Farnsworth. Yes, a lot is locked behind Farnsworth but honestly I think that just adds some challenge to the game since the three north villages are pretty easy to liberate.

The only thing I wish was different is they should have made it more clear you have to trade for resin from Farnsworth. Since it's pretty impossible to hold it after liberating until you are very late game, you have a small window to get things before the brigands take it back. You can liberate it again but just time consuming.
