Question is in the title itself: Is it possible to install mojo on one of these subsystems or VanillaOS itself?
I'd prefer the arch subsystem, but it's my understanding that vanillaos is already ubuntu based. Is there someone who already managed to install mojo somewhere on vanillaos?

Almost certainly possible with vanilla os, just need to make the filesystem editable, install it, then lock the filesystem again. im not familiar with the commands though.
Just using distrobox is likely the easiest solution. Create an ubuntu container in distrobox, then you can run mojo on your mojo files saved to your base system
