Hey everyone. All of the sudden my nightly downloads are incredibly slow. Taking up to 30 minutes to update. Not my connection as far as I can tell everything else is fast.

I tried uninstalling nightly and reinstalling but problem persists

if it's still slow, that's a problem between you and github that we can't really do anything about. if not, it's possible something is going on with the launcher in particular...

Nightly build came in fast through GitHub installed and loaded. It seems to only be an issue in the launcher for me. Just started last night .
Thank you also for trying to figure it out

If you don't mind, give it a day or two and let me know if it's still happening..I don't really want to go down a rabbit hole if it's just some temporary internet weirdness

#

out of curiosity, what OS and browser are you using?

I mean I can launch from GitHub happily - if I’m the only one reporting it no worries. If from GitHub direct , do I need to uninstall each version every time ?

But I’ll give it a few days for sure , may delete and reinstall launcher - would I lose settings and profiles if so ?

you can remove the launcher without affecting your YARG settings and profiles, but it will (may? I don't actually remember if uninstalling clears the launcher data) forget everything you've downloaded before, so you'd have to redownload the setlist again for it to be able to notify you of updates

Mac OS , safari for browser

I don't expect it would help, but you could try clearing the launcher's web cache, but I'm not sure exactly where that lives on MacOS. On windows it's in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\in.yarg.launcher.

📄 How to find your YARG save/log data

You can find most of YARG's save and log data here:

  • Windows: C:\Users\<you>\AppData\LocalLow\YARC\YARG
  • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/YARC/YARG
  • Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/YARC/YARG/release

Specifically important files:

  • Persistent data (includes scores, profiles, replays, etc.)
  • Logs (Contain debug information, useful for developers when diagnosing bugs or issues)
  • badsongs.txt (Lists songs that can't be scanned into YARG)

Maybe ~/Library/Application Support/in.yarg.launcher?

Anyway, in the launcher folder there should be a folder called EBWebview. Removing it is like clearing the cache in your normal browser.
