#Instument Icons Near Track Chart for Distracted Friends and Audience Members

So this is a very small suggestion, but I think casual viewers watching people play on YouTube or Twitch would like to know if which instrument a particular track is without figuring it out as the person plays. As of right now, it can be hard to tell at a glance if someone is playing guitar, bass, a secondary guitar part, or keys.

The suggestion would be the usual icon you guys use to indicate which instrument are available for a song and place it near/below the current multiplier icon. If it’s the same instrument but a different part is charted (so like 2 guitars or 2 keys, etc). The icons could be given a different color (black for first guitar, blue for second guitar, red for third and so on). If people are playing the same part in multiplayer, the text P1, P2, P3 etc. can also be placed next to the icon to help tell players and audience members whose who.

Besides people watching, this can also be useful for local multiplayer as I’ve encountered that friends always forget where their track is (despite knowing what instrument they’re playing and everyone’s placement never changing… alcohol may or may not usually be involved here), but this way everyone can tell at a glance who is who and what each instrument is playing on which track and no initial notes will have to be missed as a result.

I would suggest that we do it the way rock band does it at the start of a song, keeps with the style that way.

Oh yeah that’s a great idea! I guess the idea of having a smaller persistent one could still be useful for Twitch audience members just jumping in, but I agree that it wouldn’t really be needed at that point.
