from what it looks like, best way to reload udev rules is to just restart entirely lol, there's udevadm control --reload but udev is complex enough that you're often better off just restarting

We tried a few things in dms and none of those seemed to work

i think i've got the instructions for the readme all done now, just need to make sure the Mac part is all correct, so hopefully this should be much easier to figure out in the future
