For some reason, a couple songs I got from C3 don't load the metadata properly, and therefore I can't play them. This is strange, because other songs I got from C3 load the metadata perfectly fine. It loads normally on Clone Hero too.

What I'm guessing is the format of the midi isn't the same
so the game doesn't know how to read it. I reexported the midi and it works now

Okay, I've narrowed down the issue to the comment lines on the end of the song.ini file. I'll try to make a fix for it
