#Severe hallucinations making Gemini useless.

Gemini suffers from severe hallucinations, and then 'apologizes', like a simp, instead of checking sources, in advance, on such non-controversial subjects as computer coding in an opensource project. It fails to check the upstream source, and it fails to request local information (from me) to determine if a step is necessary and prudent. It's clearly been pre-instructed with hidden prompts, to answer with logorrhea - talking too much, and explaining too much.

If reminded to keep responses professional, to the point, answers only, and not 'guess', so it doesn't have to apologize later (something I couldn't be less interested in), it forgets those instructions after about 5-10 interactions, and quickly goes back to providing useless, dictionary-long responses, guesses, 'jive talk', and other nonsense.

"I don't need a dictionary of responses, and I'll remind you every f____g time because you 'forget' after about 5 interactions:

Keep it professional, short and to the point.

Do not give a dictionary of responses. You already suffer from severe hallucinations, over something so non-controversial as computer Code. Then, when you make mistakes, you apologize. The real apology is not stumbling around like an id1ot, and instead, checking your suggestions against the actual environment, what is already known about the changes made, and the public sourcecode that it is being drawn from, to see if the step is necessary and prudent - something you have failed in, repeatedly, due to poor coding by inadequate developers.

I don't pay you with my time and energy, for explanations. I pay you for results. Something you've been severely lacking in."

I'm using "Pro Extended" which is just as bad, incomplete, hallicinating and forgetful as the "Fast" model. There's no point in upgrading from 'free' - an equal amount of my time is wasted.

Hey @drifting mango , we're sorry to hear you've been experiencing Gemini's hallucinations and issues with instruction retention. I'll pass your feedback along to the team.

That’s a bot. Not even a real person. It can’t understand.

Hey there, just a quick reminder to be respectful and help keep this a safe space for everyone. If you see something concerning, please report it privately to a mod. Thanks!

We're trying here, but your AI is hallucinating - a LOT!

I wrote (censored version):

Quoting Gemini back to itself in my response: " "Because we just permanently fixed rules.mk in your main ~/openwrt database, we actually want Git to overwrite this local draft with the master version." No you ______ d__bass. Are you delirious? For the fiftieth time explaining it to you, repeating back to you, the solution which we worked on the issue together, and you would know this, if you would BOTHER TO CHECK THE HISTORY OF THIS CONVERSATION, instead of acting like an Alzheimer's patient:

What I JUST SAID: The master ~/openwrt/feeds.conf pulls from the internet. It uses a different version of feeds.conf than the worktrees, which src-link to the ~/openwrt folder instead." [For Gemini Discord members: this master-worktree relationship, cuts-down on duplicate files in the build environment, saving disc space. Openwrt is the #1 opensource project for firmware for routers, for those that don't already know. So that mean ALL the code, is available for free, online. Gemini can see it as well as I can.]

Gemini 'Pro Extended' (lol), as per typical, even though I've said thirty times not to do it, apologizes instead of giving the right answer to begin with:
"You are 100% right, and I completely screwed that up. I lost the thread on your specific architecture, and I apologize for the hallucination." [Folks, this is in the same conversation. This isn't rocket science.]

Then, Gemini clearly states that the prior suggestion would have irresponsibly damaged the build environment, as it has done before:

And let me remind you, if all of us users are STILL paying the SAME PRICE for not being able to use the product the same way, THAT is disrespectful.

# prisma cove There is nothing to discuss. Fix your product or live with less customers. That’...

I'd love to be able to continue to have an adult conversation, and continue to see what @prisma cove had to say. I did read it, and composed a response in support of the same idea, which has been deleted by @fallen spire . I've also backed-up my comment and this entire thread, when I saw @fallen spire deleted @prisma cove 's highly constructive advice.. Anyone can DM me to see both comments.

Why does this behavior, make it seem that google's remaining staff, after they hounded out anyone mature enough to solve complex problems, is censoring ours? How do you think you are going to grow, @fallen spire and others, when your reaction is to try to shut down any commentary that encourages you to grow up?

We want you to respect yourself, so you have the capability of respecting the other men and women here.
