Audio not playing back/working when app is minimized

ChatGPT plays audio when app is minimized and NotebookLM but not Gemini.

Also, is there anyway to prevent it from automatically sending my speech to text messages in regular chat with Gemini. I love how ChatGPT gives me time to submit my speech to text manually not automatically.
