#Extreme Delays on My Account - 2-minutes per request!

Gemini is totally unusable for me! Gemini App takes 2 minutes to respond. Almost all Gemini interactions take 2-minute to respond.

It started on March 25 with Gemini CLI timeouts. After a week I cancelled my account subscription. Yesterday it cancelled and everything started working well. So after gaining confidence I purchased the $20/month account and that worked great! Then a while later I purchased the $250USD ULTRA account again and shortly after my Gemini stopped working.

I feel like they pulled the ol' switcheroo on me. My trust is significantly damaged. I'm now stuck at the highest tier for a month without the ability to cancel for 30 days. I can't get a refund. But the worst part is I can't use any AI services.

Exceptions:

  • Gemini Live
  • Google Home
  • Google Search AI Overview

All other (objectively the useful) services are totally unusable. What do I do? Where do I go?

Hi @brazen merlin - I wish I could help here, but this server is focused only on Gemini App. I recommend you contact G1 Support or reach out on one of these channels.

I figured out the problem and sent feedback in-app. There are so many issues recently with Google AI, it's hard to track them... The whole world seemed to be blowing up. Heres where I'm at now. Everything seems to work kinda with workarounds.

  1. Gemini App 2m delay - Personal Intelligence turned off conflicts with Connected Apps like Google Workspace. Without logs, I can't see but I assume it's trying to access search and workspace but doesn't have permissions so it times out.
  2. Gemini CLI - It's no longer insta-429'ing after yesterday. It's slower than it was before. I guess that may be due to increased use. I expected speed ups as a Ultra user when they removed free, but I guess that's just not the case.
  3. Free Tier API keys - Gemini CLI updated their docs today or yesterday. Pro no longer works with google account or API keys. Previously the docs said to use the API keys for pro.

I'm still worried about what might be considered abuse. After triggering abuse warnings and seeing all these errors, I'm in a state where I think it might be more safe to use codex and remove ULTRA.

@split laurel this was a Gemini App problem that I reported. I'm just so invested in the google ecosystem, I'm seeing ALL the problems and thinking they're related.
