Hi there- I work for a team that is doing enablement for hundreds of employees on a deep research use case.

We keep commonly find a problem where roughly 10% of people don’t have the Deep Research tab visible. This has been a problem for both people in Europe, Asia, and North America.

Is there a fix to this that I can vocalize to people with this issue.

Hi @sturdy ravine sorry to hear you're having this issue. Below are some troubleshooting steps, and if that does not work please try reaching out to our business support https://support.google.com/business/?hl=en#topic=4596754. Thank you!

Step 1: Re-verify Your Age
Advanced generative AI features sometimes require you to explicitly re-verify your age to comply with regulations.
Action: Go directly to the Google Account age verification page: myaccount.google.com/age-verification
Check: If you are prompted to verify your age (regardless of whether you think you have already done so), please complete the required steps.
Finalize: After successful verification, log out of Gemini and then log back in to refresh your session.

Step 2: Clear Browser Cache or Try Incognito Mode
Local browser data might be "stuck" on the free version of the Gemini interface, preventing the advanced features from appearing.
Test with Incognito/Private Mode:

  • Open a new Incognito or Private browser window.
  • Log in to Gemini.
  • Result: If the advanced feature (e.g., Deep Research) appears in the Incognito window, this confirms a local data conflict is the issue.
    Resolve the Data Conflict:
  • You must now clear your main browser's cache and cookies completely.
  • After clearing the data, close and reopen your main browser window and log back into Gemini.

@barren mauve thank you! Just to confirm this should help people with free versions of a Gemini account? They have been the group effected by this issue
