1️⃣ Summary:

After initiating and using the any offical Gem, reloading the application causes the conversation to become permanently inaccessible. The chat interface displays a system error message stating, "This conversation was created with a Gem that has been deleted," even though the Gem was not manually deleted. This glitch locks the chat and prevents any further interaction.

2️⃣ Detailed Steps to Reproduce

  • Start a new conversation with the any offical Gem (Tested the issue on Brainstormer and Writing Editor).

  • Engage in at least one back-and-forth interaction.

  • Completely close and reload the application (or refresh the web interface).

  • Navigate back to the conversation in the chat history list and open it.

  • Expected Result: The conversation history should load normally, allowing the chat to continue.

  • Actual Result: The conversation is locked. An error message appears at the bottom of the screen: "This conversation was created with a Gem that has been deleted. Create a new Gem or start a new chat to continue."

3️⃣ Relevant Environment Details & Visual Evidence

  • Visual Evidence: Attached screenshot shows the "Brainstormer" chat interface with the "Gem has been deleted" error message displayed.

  • Environment Details:

    • Device Type: [Samsung S24 Ultra]
    • Operating System: [Android 16]
    • Application/Browser: [Gemini App]

Hey @cedar skiff Thanks for sharing this feedback! In your screenshot it looks like there was only the initial "hey" message, can you test to see if you notice this after an additional prompt and response? I am unable to replicate the error from my side.
