It's paused/on hold. If you see this screen you have to touch the button directly to the left of the red one to unpause it.
If that button doesn't work, then make sure you've allowed the Google app permissions to your microphone and camera

Not working, all permissions already granted . Was ok before update , now not anymore ... 🤷
Update : it's normal again . It's been fixed, I guess . However no updates noticed ...

You may also want to make sure your Google app is fully up to date. Having used my Gemini live just now, I've noticed that your pause/unpause button is different than mine visually which might indicate you have an old version
