#Image Generation Consistently Fails to Adhere to 16:9 Aspect Ratio, Defaults to 1:1

Summary:
The image generation model is stuck on generating ONLY 1:1 aspect ratio square images across ALL chats, rendering Gemini completely unusable for a user who primarily uses Gemini for image generation for work.

This issue persists even after the model acknowledges the error, receives corrective feedback (including an example image), and confirms saving the preference across all chats to never use a 1:1 ratio. The model apologizes for the error but then repeats the same mistake in the subsequent generation.

What happened:

Start a new chat with Gemini.

Prompt the model to generate an image with a specific aspect ratio, for example: "create an image of a dad sitting at his kitchen counter drinking coffee, at a 16:9 aspect ratio."

Observe that the model generates a 1:1 square image.

Correct the model, stating that the image is 1:1 and not the requested 16:9.

Receive an apology and acknowledgement from the model.

Prompt the model to try again. It will generate another 1:1 image.

Repeat the correction cycle. The issue persists indefinitely.

Explicitly instruct the model to create a rule to never generate 1:1 images and to always use 16:9. The model will confirm this rule has been saved.

Request the image again. The model will still generate a 1:1 image, ignoring the newly saved rule.

Expected Behavior:
The model should generate an image with a 16:9 aspect ratio as requested in the initial prompt. After correction, it should certainly adhere to the specified ratio. After saving the preference, it should default to 16:9 without needing a specific prompt.

Actual Behavior:
The model consistently generates a 1:1 square image, ignoring all explicit instructions, corrections, and saved user preferences related to the aspect ratio.

Additional note: I repeated this experiment across several new chats, and the result was always the same.
