I mean, an ellipses is meaningless by itself, plus you're using a custom Gem for which we don't know what the instructions are. Not sure what you're expecting here.

Ah, ok, so yeah, it's working for sure, but the ellipses is throwing it. However, outside a Gem, "..." works just fine and Gemini's response is basically "Yeah, did you want something?" Which I think is appropriate enough. I just tried it

I don't really know, but I'd say that in your Gem it's probably expecting you to also reply with words to play off of.

I wonder what it would do if you replied with just an exclamation mark or a question mark.

Then it's definitely your Gem instructions that are throwing it for a loop. Starting a new convo with random punctuation including ellipses or a question mark or whatever provides a genuine response from Gemini to actually start asking it things so it can help out
