So I went ahead and bought into Google Developer Program premium tier , so I could bind Gemini code assist to my IntelliJ IDEA IDE. That's it.
"API key not valid. Please pass a valid API key."
I just spent 300 dollars on software which won't register and I have to BUY support to get it working again. Gemini and I have been around and around with this -

If I can't get this API key thing worked out in the next 24 hours, I will dispute the 300 dollar charge - since there is no obvious way to cancel my Google Developer account
