No fix that I know of for when the bench doesn't open the menu besides breaking and replacing and hoping it works. However, if players can open the menu and it doesn't repair your gear then going to the reclaim tab will repair gear

I thought repair was limited to BS? Though, it could have been related to the Ward interactions on the work table.

I found that workbenchs that are in wards can't be repaired at but ones outside of wards will

No BS online? you literally cant play the game cause when gear breaks its gone and you cant make your own

Multiple sets of gear then? Idk, that's how the professions are set up to be so you rely on each other.

I can't confirm that it's limited to BS for repairing. I don't remember who, but they were having a challenge repairing their Stagbreaker. They tossed it to me, I could repair it. I don't recall the specifics on the Ward at that location at the time.
