Bosses are fun to do as a group, but it's not always possible to group up for a boss. I find it kind of difficult as a newish player, but casual player who struggles to parry or dodge attacks every now and then against bosses. Not to mention when I spawn one and it's just me - it's unfortunate to get a multistar boss with reflection or such. At the point, I get one shot and any damage I do always hits me. Then we just have a boss roaming around the area.

I don't want to take away the difficulty of bosses, but maybe adjust them to be a bit more friendlier to casual players or solo's that are trying to progress?

So i'll counter this and say i dont think bosses should be friendly. Or even necessarily soloable. The power scaling at least for now throughout the pack becomes very strong very fast.

The balance im aiming for is that most bosses will be soloable in max gear for your level and mid range gear for your level with a group.

I don't think they should be friendly either, but more accessible. I like the balance idea of being able to have a chance if you grind out the max gear for the biome you're currently in - that would work. My issue was having difficulty with mutli-star bosses that will one-shot you if you make one mistake. I have fairly good gear, grinded out good items - but then when I was trying to kill Moder by myself, I get one with reflective and it was also regenerating health so I felt like I was in a tough spot. But, I know you're trying to make it all balanced and fun so this was just something I thought of for next season

I also got a Moder with reflective (3*) and me and another guy with decent gear for the mountains were also getting one shot any essentially any of its attacks. Which is fine I guess, but the main thing I was discouraged with was despite it not being a "regenerating" affix boss, we were unable to out DPS its vanilla passive regen which I imagine is scaled up by its increased health and exacerbated by its increased DR. Is there any way to disable this regen?

If I have some time tomorrow, I’ll make a thread with my thoughts on a bit more stuff to see if any feedback would prove to be helpful for the future

AS much as it sucks to not have friends (believe me I know) the game is styled as an MMO, and the bosses are meant to be treated as such. Once you get past eikthyr bosses become difficult to solo even with biome appropriate gear (as they should be) because if I could solo a boss with relative ease while at the bosses gear tier then they wouldn't be balanced for an MMO

Ive noticed that each boss has a strategy, you need to learn its attacks, use the arena and your abilities, and have at least decently upgraded gear for the fight. But if youre solo you need to crank all of that to the max. Maximum effort for maximum reward. I don't see the issue with that
