#does anybody now got to import KSP2 parts into blender for modelling referencing?

I believe you can extract the meshes with AssetStudio and import them into Blender, but I haven't tried it.
Oh my gosh that would be so useful
I could get the parts and make parts…. Inspired by then

I have reverse engineered the prefabs, meshes and textures. Only problem is that the project is extremely unorganized. But I can share it if you want.
It's 22.6GB big (compressed) and I only zipped the textures, meshes and prefabs.
There are a bunch of tools for ripping assets from unity games
Yep, I used AssetRipper for example, which is very customizable.
So you actually can extract it yourself.
Which version of AssetRipper are you using?
@distant sun In AssetRipper I see a list of bundles, how can I see the prefab from a specific part?
Yes, then you have to use the Export Tab at the top to export the whole project.
You can either export the Unity project or only the assets.
Ok I exported some bundles in a new Unity project with the KSP2 package. I dropped in the scene an RCS and unfortunately I do not see the modules used.
What do you mean by "modules" exactly?
Ah, you mean the script references?
Yes, there some work required to make this work. For example, you'd have to move the scripts from the Assembly-Casharp directory into the Scripts folder and install the Addressable plugin etc.
But generally speaking, restoring the script paths comes with a lot of work.
Is this the only way to see the prefabs configuration?
you can much more easily see them in-game with Unity Explorer
you can inspect any gameobject and its components
it should be on CKAN
and for just extracting single models for reference, I'd recommend Asset Studio: #🔴tools-and-resources message
Yes but I don't think you can see everything with Unity Explorer, like animators and avatars, or at least they are not easily readable
WorldVis is an example unity project setup that can run the game in the editor https://discord.com/channels/1078696971088433153/1254614465387823104
Thanks guys, very informative!
Wait, that was your ticket?! I always thought Polo was the creator 😂
Hehehehehe
