If you think that they will abandon you or abuse you for it dont do it your safety should always be first
Remember, your family have true weaknesses such as insecurity, shame, and so on. Make sure to face your fear of rejection by deciding to question them: "What are your thoughts about transgenderism? Do you believe transgenders have the right to make choices? And what's the point of joking about transgenderism/homosexuality? Is it morally good or bad to accept transgenderism? If you believe it is morally good or bad, then show me your conclusive proof right now."
Yep, just to remind you that questioning family many times will reveal their true motives, intentions, expectations and beliefs as well. You have to find a way to make them realize how ignorant they were
