Make sure you’re ready (for yourself)

Before telling them, ask yourself a few things:

Do I feel comfortable and confident in my identity?

Am I emotionally prepared for different reactions?

Do I have someone supportive I can talk to afterward .friend, sibling?

Even supportive parents sometimes need time to process. be ready yourself, make sure you comfortable with telling your parents!

waiting until you’re more independent

telling a supportive adult or friend first
