I have been friends with this person for 20 years, since we were kids around 10 or 11 years old. He was my best friend for two decades, but we only started dating last year after he asked me out. He was the one pushing the romantic side, calling me hubby and saying love you, which made me believe we were in a real relationship. Eventually, he began ghosting me for weeks and months, leaving me to do all the work to keep the friendship alive while he gave me nothing but bare minimum responses. The most consistent red flag was that every time I mentioned wanting to visit his place or hang out as friends, he refused to talk about normal affection like cuddling; he immediately redirected everything toward sexual requests or coitus. He was filtering our entire 20 year bond through a sexual lens even before I thought we were officially together.
The situation collapsed when I saw his bio said owned by Sadie. When I confronted him, he admitted it but claimed he forgot we were dating, a lie that is impossible after knowing someone for 20 years. I found out from his friend Not gonna say name that he has actually been on a three week dating arc talking to many people, most of whom block him as soon as they see what he looks like. He has only known this Sadie person for two days, a Discord stranger he has never met, and he chose her over me in what his own friend called a lustful decision rather than one using his brain.
He even lied to ______, claiming I had just confessed a crush and was hurt when he chose Sadie, which completely erased our actual relationship and my 20 years of loyalty. I have the screenshot of the crazy three way message he sent; he tried to delete it and denied it before finally admitting he said it. Right before I got off work, he blocked me to avoid a confrontation, but only after telling me to message his friend first so he didn’t have to deal with the fallout himself. His own friend concluded that he is unsaveable and treated me like I was nothing after I was one of the few people to show him actual kindness.
