I want to move out so bad but I got my own slew of problems, no different I’m sure for many other young adults reading. But my question is how do you cope with a loud, dirty environment? I have my own set of problems, I don’t even want to unscroll the laundry list but trust me when I say it’s very, very difficult for me to maintain much on my own, let alone care for others.

Context: place gets messy easily because of disabled older sibling (AuDHD, level 3) and when he wants something, he will get violent or aggressive. He regularly gets food mess on counters, tables, walls, and even ceilings.

Cleaning up after him is near impossible, because the next morning after cleaning he gets the house so messed up by then that it wouldn’t even matter. Sometimes out of agitation he’ll bang on walls, furniture, and broken windows before that we had to pay out of pocket for repair.

Both of our parents deal with health problems, father overworks and mother is physically disabled and struggles to clean because of it. He rarely has free time so I don’t hold it against him to just want to relax, and she can land herself in the ER from just moving too much.

I can’t drive and am currently unemployed, even my own bedroom isn’t safe from my brother because he disrespects my boundaries and barges in there to steal my stuff. I never feel relaxed and it sends me into meltdowns being here along with shit family dynamics not helping At All.
