A few months ago, my online friend group made the decision to kick my online mother out of the group. Our other friend was dating her. Both of us had a hard time having to unfriend and block her, and when I vented to my online father about it, he told me that my friend had it worse than I did. I got upset and yelled at him for saying that when I was venting about it.

Am I in the wrong for being upset over it? I mean I knew her longer than our other friend, and wouldn't it feel worse losing a mother than losing a partner?

Going through bad things shouldn't be compared. Both of you are having a bad time, and you shouldn't feel wrong for being upset over it. Your online father shouldn't have said that your friend is having it worse than you when you are venting, it's like downplaying your feelings.

You're not in the wrong. For me I can't really say that losing a mother is worse than losing a partner since I'm not super close with my mom and I don't have a partner yet. It depends on the person so personally I won't compare those two and say which one feels worse.
