Coming out as gay

I live in a very conservative area and my parents aren't homophobic but they don't like it either and think I'm confused but already know I'm gay. What should I do? I want to be open about it... I want to meet someone to spend my time with. im 16 btw

I thought they were homophobic but then like they went through my phone and found out i was gay (my dad has made straight up homophobic comments i can tell u what they were if ya want but) and he hasnt said anything since they went through my phone but my mom on the other hand told me that im just confused and ive never liked boys and ive always liked girls and mentioned all my childhood crushes and shes JW (christian denom) and they believe that being gay is a mental illness type of thing and my mom believes that everything in the bible was meant to be taken literally so idk

ok so my parents kinda have the same mindset.saying Anything gay is automatically bad. But i personally havent come out to my parents bc of that reason. If ur dad hasnt mentioned anything bad abt u personally being gay, he might be on ur side. Tho ur mom (from somewhat experience) may not come to ur side so easily. Trust me, with christian conservatives there is no changing their minds. Also ur not confused and its not a mental illness. If u like guys, then you like guys

well my dad has always told me not to dye my hair, not to paint my nails

that i cant wear bracelets cuz i'll "attract gay people"

and listens to the most far rightest stuff you can so idk, my mom says shes libertarian tho unlike my day

cuz u could just dress however u want there, and just detransform after school

nope, always been homeschooled

cuz my mom doesnt want to expose me to certain th ings

Well i kinda get what ur going through at least. Im just waiting until i move out then i can “let loose” id say u should do the same
