#I don’t even know

I don’t have DID, but OSDD-1a (well, I’m fairly certain). I just sometimes see myself react to situations differently. Like one moment I might want to pet my dog, the other I can’t care for her. Mood swings themself arent necessarily from that tho, even if strong. This doesnt rule out everything but how much do you remember from that time?
I remember most of it but i dont really feel like im in control of my actions. The best way I can explain it is if anger, sadness, and anxiety from inside out took full control of my brain. I always feel terrible about it afterwards, but i dont know what i can do.
Was it still “you” or was it more someone else that took control?
Or was it more just you not thinking about what you were doing at all?
It felt like i was controlling my physical actions but my mind had left the building and it was still me, but i was angry at myself and everything else for merely existing.
About the part where you were happy. Was that the same person?
The part where i was happy was just me, but then in the span of about 10 seconds, my mood and personality just flips.
I mean, it probably isnt DID or anything like that
This seems like a random question but it will help me explain, have you seen lord of the rings?
Nah sorry
Kk
Oh well, it can also be OSDD-1
Whats that?
Well, it’s basically “weaker” DID
Yeah, I think b would be the one that more fits you, idk exactly tho
The symptoms i read pretty much fit what ive been experiencing
Which type?
b
Don’t know a whole lot about that, as I am, as stated, a
I actually do not understand how people would be able to have different personalities yet still remember like anything
Well, I’ll wish you luck on your journey
You’ll figure yourself out eventually
Thank you🫡
We just try to make everyone as happy as we can
And help people to the best of our ability
❤️
Compliments kinda do nothing on us
Big or small, we don’t really acknowledge achievements that heavily
Either way, i do appreciate it
Hi, this can be explained by multiple mental health conditions, not just DID or OSDD. What you describe here can also happen in Depression, Anxiety, C/PTSD, some PDs, and quite frankly anything that can cause moodswings.
As someone with OSDD, dissociative disorders are traumagenic disorders caused by repeated childhood trauma from ages 1-9. It cannot develop after this timeframe.
If you experienced trauma, even something like C/PTSD can cause you to feel out of control WRT your emotions and actions.
This goes in-depth about dissociative disorders in particular ::
As you can see here, these are charts made with the Theory of Structural Dissociation in mind. ANP is Apparently Normal Part, and EP is Emotional Part.
In trauma disorders such as C/PTSD, you may experience having EPs who embody specific responses to traumatic situations. Such as, one EP will hold your fight response, another holds your freeze response, and so on.
This is NOT the same as full on alters like in DID/OSDD. EPs in Primary-Secondary dissociation are not distinct from you nor is there really amnesia outside of maybe emotional. You feel dissociated from your body and what’s going on, you feel the lack of control over your emotions and actions, but it is still a part of YOU acting. It’s like watching yourself from the passenger seat while your emotions are the ones driving.
And EPs typically only “take control” when you are triggered by something, even something “benign”, because really anything can remind you of trauma.
If you are noticing something akin to this, I would suggest reaching out to a therapist or otherwise medical professional about trauma recovery. People online can only offer you so much advice. I do wish you luck though! 💙
(Also for clarity, OSDD tends to be Secondary-Tertiary dissociation depending on severity, for lack of a better term.)
(And for the record, dissociative disorders are very difficult to diagnose and it usually takes years of sessions to fully determine if you have DID/OSDD or not. It is not something you can figure out overnight or over the course of a few days, especially not by yourself. You need to work this out alongside a professional for any 100% certainty.)
Sorry I yapped a lot LOL I just wanted to give concise advice
Nah your good, thank you so much for this 🫶
