Honestly, you just have to tell them. If you know they're safe to talk to, I urge you to tell them once you're ready so you can get support, but if coming out might make you unsafe, you might be better off waiting until you have somewhere safe to go. AND if you're unsure where they stand, maybe just try to scope out-- maybe just make something up like 'oh my friend came out as gay recently and idk how to help them' or smth, and see how they react? Obviously not 100% guaranteed to work, but if they're safe to come out to, you have to just do it, there's no slow way to go about it unfortunately; best of luck on your journey and your coming out <33
