Hey, I haven't been very active in this server but this is the only place I could think to go to regarding this.
Short backstory: I was at work today and in our break room there were me and 3 women. I am nonbinary. And one of the women made a comment about it only being women there. It was said so quickly that I didn't really have time to react so I couldn't correct her. And it felt weird bringing it up later in the conversation.
It's not a secret that I'm nonbinary, I even wear the pride flag on my uniform (and the person who made the comment is queer). But the flag is tiny, easily missed.
Maybe I'm having an off day, but it really stuck with me. And I kinda wanna come out so that it's public knowledge and not just something that I mention if people ask or something.
I've just had a bad experience at my last job, I told one of my supervisors that I'm enby and that I prefer they/them pronouns (today Idc about pronouns). The respons I got was that Noone could be expected or "forced" to use those pronouns (which I've later learned is against the law I believe).
I also prefer the name Alex (which is short my Alexandra) and I had a friend (work friend) ask if I've thought about changing it at work. At that point I didn't care, and I didn't know I could.
So, I thought about just sending a quick message in our Teams chat to adress it. Or talking to my supervisor (who is a super nice and understanding person).
I need some support or advice for how to go about this. Thanks in advance!
