Do your parents normally show signs of homophobia/transphobia? Do you hear them make hurtful comments or generally be hurtful towards lgbtq. If you don’t know, you could try posing hypothetical situations to them, like “what it I was gay, what if I was trans” to gauge their reaction. If they are supportive, you just gotta pick the right time and place. Choose a place you all feel safe and comfortable and go for it. And remember to be accepting of them. They may not always understand, remember, or like it right away, but they will if you give them time. If they’re NOT accepting of lgbtq, don’t come out. I know it’s hard, but wait until you are self dependent (maybe college, or in a career) to come out officially. Hope this helps!
