My parents are gonna divorce and it's guaranteed that me and my brother are going to be in full custody of my mother. That's why I'm waiting to come out, so I only have to come out to my mom (and as for my older brother I will just leave a note on his desk while he has a break from gaming to make food) and leave everyone else for later. I'm Trans (FtM) and Aroace. My mom is Christian. I'm not sure if she's homophobic. Her (secret) boyfriend made a slighty transphobic (or as least how I interpret it) joke which she actually laughed at. She did once show him a article about some law banning trans people from the military, and they agreed that's wrong. I think I could try convincing her in her religious beliefs that my identities aren't a sin. For being Aroace, I have read a bible verse where being Aroace is fine, and even called a gift in some cases, so she couldn't ever be aphobic. However, many Christians believe it's a sin to be trans and actually try finding verses in the Bible that prove it. I don't know a bible verse where I could say being trans isn't a sin (can you tell I'm not religious guys) and I don't know how she or the people in church (which I don't go to often) will react. I think I might try coming out on the national coming out day but I'm not sure if my parents will divorce by then because we have the legal process on hold due to the surgery of a family member that we need to take care of. What's the best way to come out in this situation?

Idk if she's homophobic cuz we never really discussed LGBT stuff and she does go to church and watches the stream version when she's not able to go. She has a bible and does bible study when she has the time for it but idk

To see if she’s homophobic just mention lgbtq, like maybe smth that happened on the news, just like it’s no big deal. Check her reaction and if she like dismisses it or is on the lgbtq side.
