Any good ways for coming out to your parents about being gay?

(Completed) There's no good way I can think of coming out to them and know that they're not homophobic or anything. Is there any way to basically test the waters?

What I did was ask what their opinion was on the LGBTQ community, their response was supportive then I basically said “I’m gay” and they already knew! Basically just see what they think then come out but take your time and remember SAFETY COMES FIRST!

ive daydreamed how i would come out to my parents and basically it was just like whenever i got a gf id just say 'oh btw this is _ my girlfriend im gay anyways whats for dinner'
