Okay so to set the scene I’m going to a new school after being bullied a lot in my old school. My mom accepts me as trans but she’s scared to put my new name into the system because we don’t know what this school is like. I pointed out that I have to take PE this year and i’m scared because i have to use the girl’s locker room. Is there anyway to avoid getting harassed by my classmates and possibly teachers? I have a plan but the PE part destroys the whole plan :(

I would say that this heavily depends on the type of school it is (i.e. grade level and whether it's public or private), the culture of the school and student body, and the school's policies. You (or your mom if you aren't comfortable doing so yourself) should reach out to the school and ask about their current policies and procedures regarding restroom and locker room usage, usage of preferred names and pronouns, and bullying/discrimination, and additionally, ask what resources are available to LGBTQ+ students. If locker rooms make you uncomfortable, ask if there is an alternative changing facility available. Some of this can also be heavily dependent on the laws in your area, so you could also look into that.
