Use clues! context is super important, if you ever think he's interested, look into that more. Ask questions, get to know him, really talk to him! If he's interested, by a month or so you'll fully know. And if you want to take that chance early, go ahead!

I've learned that time doesn't matter as much as it seems. Time is just a concept; it doesn't affect your relationships quite as much if you both agree on something.
