Homophobic friend. What should I do?

I'm trans and have a homophobic friend who hates the LGBT+ community with passion. He proudly says he's homophobic. He's cool and we share interests, but I don't feel safe with him. I feel like I'm always hiding something from him because he doesn't accept people like me. I'm not sure if I should keep being his friend or not. I just need support.
