Wasn't sure wether to put this here but-

A few months ago I had a realization that I was trans (mtf), and I've planned to publicly come out soon, but recently my confidence has just tanked. So much so that I'm second guessing wether or not I genuinely am.

Not sure if I just need validation or not, but any sort of advice for overcoming these kinds of feelings would be nice

(Going to bed immediately after posting but I'll read everything when I get up)

hi i havent expirienced this exactly but stuff like it has happened, when the closer you get to saying something that requires confidence, it just drops. usually i do it and it turns out well, so i think you should go with what you thought when you had that confidence.

Have you come out to anyone yet? I would reccoment starting small, with someone you trust (and who you know is an ally). If you’re not sure if they’re an ally, try bringing up some LGBTQ+ news around them and see how they react. Sometimes, if you do it enough, it gets easier (not always the case though). If you’re not sure what to say, try just outright stating it: “I identify as trans, and I would prefer if you used [pronouns] pronouns when refering to me please.” (Or something like that). Remember, make sure they’re accepting of the community and that you feel safe doing it. Good luck! Also I am in no way profesional in this, this is just going off my (somewhat limited) experience.

TL;DR make sure they’re an ally, then try just saying it.

A lot of my online friends know, and I've slowly shifted towards the new name in certain groups as well as primarily they/them pronouns.
I'm gonna just rip the bandaid off on the 9th (i plan to come out on the 9th for no other reason than it's 6/9 i'm a child I know) and deal with what happens from family and irl friends afterwards.

I would reccomend having a slip of paper with the words you want to say written on there, in case you get scared in the moment or can’t talk. You can read off the paper, or just hand it to them.

I recorded a scripted video last month and I'm mostly just going to use that and answer questions

It's not as special as coming out face to face ig but 🤷‍♂️

I was able to really plan it out and I got what I wanted out without breaking off onto some other side topic (adhd go brrrrrr).

The video contains what I identify as, definitions, and my journey of discovery.
