I hate the word "psychogenic" now. All my doctors have diagnosed me with FND and despite therapy, I have been getting worse. I just wish there were a way to scream into their faces all the atypical symptoms I'm having. And yes, even my bestest of parents sometimes act like they don't believe me.

I have bad tingling on only one side and bilateral headaches with a possible CSF leak problem. I feel sick.

I have a pediatric neurologist appointment Thursday. It feels so far away.

#

They said FND was a diagnosis of exclusion, but they only gave me a EEG and a not-so detailed physical exam. No scans or anything.

#

EEG was normal, even though I was jerking. The tech didn't measure my head, despite there being a visual chart next to my bed.

#

There MAY be a option to do a video EEG at a unit, but that's a whole lot of days in one hospital.

#

I have these jerks frequently.

How long was the eeg you took? Was it take home?

But I took Ritalin and other stimulating substances, which is probably my fault.

#

I take Ritalin for ADHD-like symptoms

I recommend a take home. That way they get 24 hours of information including when you sleep. It also comes with a video camera you can set up if you’re in the same place for a while. I’m not sure if you would be offered it but definitely try asking about it if you think the results a short one got you weren’t that good. When I got an eeg, the readings of the short in-hospital one gave much less info than a full 24 take home one

That would be I'll be in a hospital for a while

I mean if you’re fine laying in the hospital for the entire day. The nice thing about the take home is that you are in a more comfortable environment. You can just go around your day doing whatever, then go to sleep in your own bed with quiet. They normally give you a camera that’s really easy to set up as well. I mean, in my opinion it’s much better than being bedridden in the hospital for 24 hours, especially as it’s a much more noisy environment
