if you think your friends would abandon you for your sexuality, then perhaps they aren’t that good of friends to have…you deserve friends who will love and accept you as you are. if you feel it is unsafe to come out to them, then you don’t Have to. your own safety is a priority

however if you believe they’d be receptive to it, you could try slowly talking about being gay/being in support of it/challenging your friend’s homophobia in ways they can understand it better. sometimes slow and steady wins the race especially with people who hold ignorant beliefs like homophobia, transphobia, etc when they genuinely don’t know better or understand LGBT+ experiences. but also remember that it isn’t your job to educate people all the time, and if they meet you with hostility about your sexuality, it’s okay to seek new friends. there’s billions of people on this earth and you are bound to find those who will accept you as you are
