I know it's weird that I'm coming to discord for help but I don't know who to ask well anyways I've been bi for a while now but I don't know how to tell my family about it and they said to me if I ever date the same gender in my life they'll be disappointed in me and I want to tell them that I'm Bi but I don't know how to approach the conversation.

First off, not weird at all.

Come out when you're ready. Me personally I realized I was transgender at 12 and came out to my family/parents that same year and the next. Didn't accept but I still did it and I don't regret it.

A good way to come out would be to tell them when they're not busy. Sit them down, tell them "Hey mom/dad/family, I'm bisexual. Here's what it means..." Explain it and have them do research on it if they're still confused or have questions. They'll probably ask you questions as well which is normal. It might be a long conversation and it doesn't seem like your family agrees with who you are. They may even try to say you're not or it's just a phase or try to make you feel less than.

Which is sad because it shouldn't happen--but it might. I'm not going to tell a 14 year old to have backbone but if they don't accept and if you care about your family and what they think, it'll probably not feel good. However you have to remember that that's who you are. I advise telling them and if they have a negative reaction, that's on them. Not you.

I really hope this isn't your family but if they threaten to kick you out or abuse you or neglect you or treat you any differently because you came out--contact the police/CPS. Your family cannot do anything drastic without the law getting involved.

Do what feels right to you. If telling them now feels right, do that. If waiting feels right, do that.
