usually with teen MTFS, they like to keep it a secret and start the whole transition process once they have a steady job and some money, transitioning is not an easy task and can take several years

Other than that my personal reccomendations would most likely be that you talk about it in a non obvious way by talking about good news that involves a trans person and asking them about their opinion on it
