ive had this problem since i came out as trans (ftm), most of the people i know say to respect me but call me by my dead name and/or wrong pronouns, some of them being my own parents and some of my friends, and i dont know what to do, i try to correct them but they either get mad at me for doing so or just ignore me.
honestly i dont know what to do.
#what should i do when someone that says to respect me but doesnt?

From what I read, they really don't respect you or your feelings. I myself would take distance from the friends that don't even try to respect you and try to explain your parent's how it feels, or what often helps, getting a third person to tell you parents why it's bad to dead name someone. It's just sadly often the truth that parent value another person opinions on there child more then when the child themselves say it, it dosnt always mean that there bad parents, I can't really explain why, but it did worked for me
I really hope this helps and that your parent's try for you. I wish you the best ♡
i have alredy gotten a third's opinion, my psicologist who is also trans explained it to them but they keep doing it and saying excuses like "cant your mom/dad be wrong one time?" but the thing is that they dont even try, and i have been out for more than a year to them
