So while my mom was discussing employment possibilities, she brought up my old highschool, where the kids are homophobic, so I had to come out as Gynosexual as I told her that'd be a terrible idea... She's supportive, BUT she's from a time where gay was the blanket term, and doesn't want to use the current term because it was a slur... I don't want to be called gay, so how do I tell my mom that in 2025, "Homie, I give you the Q word pass"?
#She's ALMOST THERE.

q word as in queer? just tell here, hey, it's ok to say queer, just don't say the f word, (and never use it in a derogatory manner) but if she's supportive, it doesn't sound like that last bit is needed, but who knows
Yeah, she's supportive, going to local pride events and such, but she's uncomfortable saying queer because that was her generation's F word... But like... Gay today isn't the blanket term...
