LIterally the same thing here man. I just joined this server for this very reason.

#

No idea how to rectify this, I've not been able to access the site for around a month.

Same here and I’m also with Sky Broadband UK. I have to use 4G on my phone if I want to access the site.

That's exactly why I joined the server today too, Alex

thanks, some progress Wowhead techs. Can now access Wowhead and look up items, quests etc., but cannot open tabs such as Comments, Drops and so on for any actual information on items, npcs, quests and so on

Grrrr back to square one :((

Can the wowhead dev team comment on this at all? Is there a workaround (apart from using 4G/5G data) that we should try. What has changed lately that would cause this?

I can't log in with my phone either which uses Chrome browser

I have little technical knowledge, but I'm assured by those who do, that this continuing Static CDN Error is a fault at Wowhead's end, so, Wowhead technicians, are you doing anything about this issue or do you intend to? Presently I'm paying for the Premium Service for nothing. An update would be appreciated, thank you.

From 23rd June to 26th June wowhead was back and working correctly. Now the annoying Static CDN error is back.

I sent a complaint to Sky as the wowhead team said it’s coming from them.

the problem is appearing and disappearing every few hours. Yesterday afternoon CDN error in the evening working now the error is back the following afternoon. I shall make a complaint to Sky as well

Contact with Sky yesterday evening. Rep escalated situation to Network teams. Promised response in 72 hours. Not overly hopeful as I also had an email from Sky promising to check up on my internet speeds - I never said one word to them about connection speeds! 🤦

Best of luck with it! I’ve changed my DNS setting on my phone so far to 1.1.1.1 and it’s working again.

#

They replied to me and said it was the Sky Broadband Shield, so I had to disable it. But I made an exception for the WoWhead website and it still threw the error.

I have no idea what Sky Broadband Shield is or what it does or how to disable it on my desktop pc. If anyone can tell me what this is/does and how to disable it - and what efect tthat will have on my pc I'd be very grateful

#

is there such a thing as a DNS setting on my pc and if so how do I change it and to what should I change it? Bear in mind I'm 68 years old and NOT tech savvy in the least

Make sure to follow the steps for either Windows 10 or 11. And just use 1.1.1.1 for the settings they say.

To Asgard_Thunder_7 Thank you for your reply and the links. I will try it once I have plucked up the courage. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that I don't make things worse for myself as, for example, I don't know for sure what a DNS address is, much less if I have any (gulp!). But whatever the outcome I appreciate your help, thank you.

Don’t worry you’ve got this! Just if you’re interested, DNS (Domain Name Service) is like a phone book for the internet. If you have a family members number saved to your phone, you call by selecting on their name, rather then typing out their number every time. So when you type WoWhead, the DNS does background checks, looks at the IP address (the website number) associated with that name and gives it back to you.

#

So we were using Skys DNS, which seems to struggle with returning the Wowhead website at the moment. But you can change it to a different provider so they do the checks instead. There’s public ones like Cloudflare who provide the 1.1.1.1 DNS or Google who provide the 8.8.8.8 DNS

#

Technical jargon aside, these are free for anyone to use and I went with Cloudflare as they seem to value privacy and security more
