Having a lot of frustrations with retail. I need to finish Uniting the Isles questline, but I don't see any quests for Stormheim on my map, nor in my class hall map. I hit level 50 and was teleported to SW and a quest auto-popped up, but my quest log was full, so it just declined the quest and I have no idea what the name of the quest was, or how to get it back. Lastly, can anyone please tell me how I switch zones in dungeon finder after level 50? I'm no longer able to talk to chromie to switch timelines, so dungeon finder is only showing BofA right now.

@grim canyon okay so once you hit level 50, you can no longer access chromie time. If you wish to do the older dungeons again you’d need to party sync with someone who is still leveling and can queue for you. If you want to finish legion content you just use your Dalaran hearthstone to go back and resume questing. The stormheim starting quest is given by khadgar in the violet citadel in Dalaran

@snow pivot So frustrating, but thank you. It's such a tangled mess with all the timelines and quests that just don't have a clear path to the next. I feel like I've done all the quests offered by hkadgar, but I'm short about 300 rep in Stormheim and there's nothing left but the Trial of Valor raid, and I can't use raid finder to get a group, and no one responds in /1 in Dalaran. I have no idea how to put a group together because no one seems interested.

Chromie time was designed for more flexible leveling, so you’re not forced to do content you don’t want to do. Once you’re max level you’re free to go back and do any content you’d like though. You’re not locked out of it; you’ll just be overgeared and one shot things

I mean, it's largely up to you. I like heirlooms because:
1.) I already had them
2.) low mog cost
3.) scale with you, don't have to worry about replacing those slots until you've grown out of them
4.) the new bonuses are neat enough
Now, that said:
If you don't have any heirlooms and don't particularly care for the bonuses they offer, I do recommend:
Neck
trinkets
rings (if you can earn them)
weapons (more a maybe here, a definitely if you're going Legion for leveling)
The reason i say these is because they're rarer to come up for upgrading in quest rewards and dungeon drops in general. Everything else you'll be getting upgrades for fairly regularly. I say weapons for Legion because if you start from 10 in Legion, your artifact is ilvl 20. Unless you add relics, it doesn't grow at all. It stays at 20. So it's better to have those scaling weapons with you - if, again, you pick Legion. They're also the most expensive to upgrade, so.... up to you

so a hunter, for example, can't learn any cloth or leather appearances, but they can learn the appearance from any weapon they can equip

@empty prawn Two days isn't a long time to have an open ticket, your issue might be more difficult than you think. They might also have a large backlog of tickets due to the prepatch, which can delay responses by quite a bit. Just be patient, they'll get back to you eventually

If you have Chromie time enabled, you can only access the dungeons from the expansion you have activated.
As Doge says, you just need to talk to Chromie again and tell her that you want to revert to the current timeline.

Races have incredibly small impacts on your performance
If you're asking for new players, it's unlikely that they'll even be using those racials perfectly enough for the ~1% difference to really matter.
Just pick the one you prefer, really.

For questing, I find casters to be more unwieldy than melee, so I'd probably suggest something that can Melee DPS
That's usually a personal preference too, though.
Hunters, though, have 2 specs that are very simple to play, as well as having a pet that can let you solo enemies that you otherwise shouldn't really be able to.
Other than that, I can recommend Paladins, that have a lot of tools to prevent themselves from dying, from absorption shield to healing to even full damage immunities.
If you're looking to be a tank or healer, the Paladin would likely be the choice I'd say to go for, since the Hunter can only fill the role of DPS.

We are not sure what the exact criteria are. Officially, you need to have levelled at least one character to 50. By from what we see, as long as you had at least a veteran account at some point before the prepatch, you should be able to talk to Chromie.

After checking Wowhead it looks like the BFA prepatch had three prerequisite chapters prior to this (Teldrassil & Lordaeron). Are they no longer doable? It makes the plot super disjointed, but I'm more or less up to speed on what happens now anyway after Googling it.
Someone coming in as a first-time player would have no idea what has happened for e.g. Saurfang to have been captured, or the significance of him saying "I'm not coming back while Sylvanas is around"

It's an unfortunate requirement for Blizz to streamline the leveling experience. If they had you do all of the peripheral content that gives context to the main story you'd probably be looking at leveling times similar to pre-EXP buff BfA.
I wish they'd come up with a system similar to FFXIV's memory system.

Funny thing. If you start as Horde in Exile's Reach and don't skip the Orgrimmar tutorial, you will skip the Stormwind Extraction scenario and land on Talanji's ship directly. Otherwise you still have to do the scenario.

My pet died many many times, you just have to CC constantly. Or take a beating, revive, heal then go

You are definitely not too low level. Swirling symbols on the ground are typically a warning of an incoming avoidable attack. Moving out of them quickly before you get hurt is crucial to becoming better at this game. @maiden oasis

@knotty bobcat Super simple, make a Horde Character, do the BFA questline, level through Zuldazar then Nazmir and finally when you get to Voldun finish that story mode then you will have the requirements to unlock them... at that point go to the Horde Emmissary and do the quest to unlock then you have them!

Well, iirc msbt per se doesn't overwrite the settings. I remember back in 2010 when I started having to go to the Interface menu and disable the combat text manually. It might have changed though. Either way, disable MSBT and check the Interface settings and see if that works

If you go to the menu and choose interface there is a section on combat. One of the tick boxes is Scrolling Combat Text for Self. I think you need that box checked to get what you want.

Having a slight issue, I finished the first scenario I started while leveling, when I go to the scouting map, tho it has an ! above it, as if to pick up a new quest, upon clicking it, a map comes up, but its blank.

Yeah just disabled everything, and still having a blank map
Tried restarting as well. Nothing. Sat on the map for awhile too to see if it was a loading thing, and sadly its not.

If you mean HoA, normally you get it at level 50. But low level characters were able to force it early by having someone of level 50 boost them in a dungeon and then trading them a piece of Azerite armor. Then the quest would pop out after you relog in the BFA capital of your faction. Now the amulet itself requires level 40 to equip, but I don't know if the quest itself does.

@grand minnow Under normal circumstances you would get the artifact quest immediately at level 10 in Dalaran. Not sure why it isn't working for you. Maybe try disabling addons or something?
