@quaint token if you're a new player, id recomend retail (normal). yes, its worth starting rn. theres a massive update coming this month so its arguably the perfect time to start. if i were you, id download wow retail, play around a bit (which is free), then decide whether to buy it later

if you want all the games content, you need shadowlands (30 quid, one time purchase) AND game time (10 quid per month)

you only get useful boss drops in dungeons and raids (unless its a powerful boss in endgame content)

I just got the achievement, so the story is done. Anyway I solved the problem somehow. I leveled up to 25 and now the scouting map is active and let me pick Nazmir. Don't know if it's intended or a bug.

Returning / new player here, I made a void elf warlock, if I don't like to unlock all the flight paths and flying etc. in every zone, is it an idea to just level a void elf to 50 for the heritage armor and then boost the one i want to play?

Get master riding, costs the same price. Technically speaking you're saving 5k. Since you don't need to buy artisan @quick flint

I switched a horde char (with tides of vengeance and zandalar forever done) to Ally, but don’t have some of the zone breadcrumbs, nor the breadcrumbs for the War Campaign (can’t travel to zuld either)

@quaint token I don't believe it's considered top tier but good hunter players can get a lot of mileage out of it, so if you like the class it's definitely good enough.

I've looked all over but can't seem to find any information on this. What is the new minimum level to start an allied race unlock quest? I have completed the necessary achievement, there is a checkmark on the embassy flag, but the NPC does not have a quest available for me. I know it used to be 110, does that mean it's 48ish now?

@soft maple we have no source stating that the cloak will be made unobtainable, so its probably you can still do it. But i read people having trouble to get to the correct phasing to start 8.3 content right now (for the alliance at least)

Yeah that'll be why, the same happened to my DH, you need to get to level 50. Once you hit level 50, the time will 'reset'. Hence letting you do BFA dungeons

Like quests, just not dungeons. Yeah as soon as you hit 50, chromie will pop up on your screen and say something about saving Azeroth, then a bar at the top appears counting down 1 minute. If alliance you get teleported to Stormwind, Horde is Orgrimmar (At the end of the countdown), then when you open the group finder, it should say 'Random Battle For Azeroth Dungeon'

if you're experiencing the same as lauren it seems to me that your DHs are by default in legion timewalking, you should be able to get out of timewaking by talking to chromie

Yeah it's kinda stupid rn, as soon as you enter a time. You can't change until level 50, the only one you can do is BFA for some reason. So you can't just from WoD, get bored and go to Cataclysm

@molten osprey in most cases the quests are only means to an end, you can just skip all the texts if you want, but if you're into story some of them are interesting. And others have like 0 lore implications but they are hella fun, like the ones you get transformed into a giant fireball and you roll through mobs

I personally struggle with mages and warlocks, honestly. I'm not bad at them necessarily, I just struggle to find them really interesting to play for a long time. So I tend to end up only working on one for a short time before swapping to something else.

Though I don't know if it's any of the changes or not or just a renewed interest in leveling, but I've had fun with my frost and fire mages and I've found destro fun to play.

I guess I don't really find anything difficult, after playing this long the leveling itself isn't really much of a challenge. It's just the drive to do it.

As a Blood Elf you can only buy different colors of that bird. If you want something else, you need to either reach exalted with another faction or start a new character of different race in the same faction. Mounts are account wide, so once you buy a different mount on another race, you can go back to the first character.

Just a pvp one. I can start BFA content in storm wind like we used to. I was able to unlock world quests but that’s just on kul tiras, not zandalar

Well, when you unlock WQs with your main, alts can just complete the quest and have them unlocked, used to be like that pre patch

I leveled to 50 in WoD so I never saw BFA content on this alt. The portal was in SW but I didn’t have the option to do the opening with Jania. Chromie also doesn’t have any options at this point since I’m level 50

Oh yeah so there;s only 1 mount (not including the broom which seems only active for the weeks Hallow's End is on). Then it's all pets, achievements and xmog kind of stuff, so only really worth if you're a collector

you do some quests there, unlock the nazjatar hub and the portal back to boralus, do a scenario in highmountain for magni

and then i think you'll get two quests automatically, one being the start of the cape quest line

at least this is before the prepatch. game required you start the 8.2 stuff before getting to 8.3

Yeah - iirc you got friendly with Order of Embers, Proudmoore and the boat people and then you could start the war campaign to go to Zandalar - which I can't even access on my hunter yet - currently 50% neutral after completing all the world quests for proudmoore and emissary quests for embers and boat people

Yeah I was hunting through WoWhead last nigh trying to figure out which quests were still available - the quest after receiving your first azerite piece in the Chamber of Hearts is the last quest available - then it just stops without any further progress - but it's part of that chain that works towards going to Zandalar/Kul'Tiras

you will not be able to choose a new zone until you complete the last one you started from that page is incorrect btw, you only have to complete a few specific quests in the zone (not the whole zone) before you can go back and pick another

Yeah - from a customer point of view, it's a broken product in its current state. BFA is unplayable for new players - aside world quests and dungeon/raid content via the group finder
