Strictly speaking, the GCD is designed to prevent spamming of spells and needs to be waited out, but for some reason, maybe latency, quality of life, etc, you actually can cast earlier. I'm just trying to figure if I can anticipate the point in time before the completion of the GCD when I can cast again.

If you have decent internet the visual GCD timer is extremely accurate.
I can't say as to compensating for latency.
But it is a fixed GCD, yeah. It's 1.5 seconds for all classes, modified by haste.

I know the Quartz addon does some guessing on this. That's an addon that gives you a cast bar, and the last section of it is a different color (and it has a small text label with your ping ms on it), suggesting that actual GCD = 1.5 - ping. Not sure if that's the right method, but it seemed to work when I used it.

Yeah, ElvUI does that as well. It tries to compensate for latency but in my experience it's not super accurate.

@ebon tendon @neon cedar there's an addon which adds on interface menu the advanced interface menu, which can edit the latency I think. From resding the article it seems they both use the same things, but it might be easier to have an addon with gui than just memorizing or macroing a script to edit those values

they also currently give an exp bonus of up to around 50~60% iirc? however that is going away soon in place for another bonus.

Hello, sorry for bothering, first time playing WoW. I was wondering if it's a good choice playing the rogue class as I've read it will get nerfed quite a bit in SL. The alternative would be a Paladin but boy the sneaky sneaky seems fun

Rogues wont be nerfed, its just a new spec is "taking over" as top
theyll be just fine gameplay-power wise... as for paladins, also a great choice. theyre a very good middle ground class that can do everything and are easy to learn.
In terms of difficulty out of 5 id give paladins a 2 and rogues a 4? if that matters to you
