Early game is basically just dungeoning. Then you hit midgame at level 60, and you unlock flying, which means you'll pretty much be swapping to questing, which is made much easier once you can fly. Late game is pretty much everyone's favorite, as you can pretty much do whatever you want. My advice to you would be to get a month of the game, and see if you like it. Worst case scenario, you blow $15, but personally, during this time, I'll take whatever entertainment I can get.

So was wanting to give WoW a try. I've played a lot of FFXIV (Up to doing savage content) and got very familiar with the game. I really do love it, but I' kind of just wanting to branch out and try WoW. I had played the game before I played FFXIV but couldnt be pulled in mostly because of no friends that played or easy resources to get into the game back in Legion. My highest toon on WoW is only level 36 so I still know absolutely nothing haha.
Wanted to ask this: Demon hunter has caught my attention and its what I want to play, really either that or DK but leading towards DH more. I tank in FFXIV so given that im familiar with how tanks work and play and how aggro works, If I decide to really get into this, if I choose DH despite it starting at a higher level, am I going to miss out on a lot or be fucked over for starting on a higher level class or will I learn quickly since I generally know what I'm doing?

Generally, it's better to learn the mechanics through a level 1 start.
Also, levelling is actually a lot of fun, especially in the MoP (level 80-90) zones.
Tanking varies from game to game, so I'd be really cautious about jumping straight into a complex role at level 98. But if you think you can do it, hey, power to ya.

Currently, there is no class-specific armor sets in the newest expansion, just cloth, leather, mail, and plate; each shared between classes who wear them. You would need to farm older raids to find something just for your class.

Undead are also great because they have a fear removal
Trolls are great for either because they have a 15% haste racial
