Hey, I have my 120 char boost token and im wondering what class i should use it on, a DH, DK or a Prot Pala? Im more of a questing solo player and decently new. I have 1 lvl 120 mage and a 91 BM hunter and Im looking for something melee, more sustain and able to tank a little more while still dealing damage

Because you'll be overwhelmed with a bunch of abilities, and you won't know what any of them do.

I have played a bit of DK before, For me id rather learn a character after i boost it rather then level it to 120 since then the char boost really has no use since i dont need a duplicate character

I'd personally only ever use the boost if I wanted to make a new character of a class I've already played, like if I wanted a maxed paladin on horde when I already have one on alliance etc

Guys I need help, I've been at those thugs with Lou's parting thoughts about 15 minutes now, every time a different player takes the mission and the one time the thugs finally turn on me, for some reason the quest doesn't update on me and it's getting really annoying

Does anyone know when the second set of world quests spawn in naj? I know the majority reset at 11am realm time, but when I look around six am I notice that there are always two new ones that have spawned that were not there the day before but expire at 11

Whats the easiest / recommended way to browse around for gear upgrades to get? i'm not aiming for best in slot or anything, but just stuff i can upgrade to now, to help me progress a little easier. I'm 120 with ilvl 330. Currently i'm working through the Visions of N'zoth stuff to hopefully get the cloak. however, im struggling pretty hard. So wanting to get some upgrades to bring my ilvl up a little bit.

I recommend running dungeons as much as possible. Regular dungeons drop ilevel 400 gear. Furthermore, world quests in Kul'Tiras and Zandalar can give items around 400-420 in iLevel.

Does anyone know when the second set of world quests spawn in naj? I know the majority reset at 11am realm time, but when I look around six am I notice that there are always two new ones that have spawned that were not there the day before but expire at 11

You can go anywhere with a premade group. Not everyone will accept ilvl 410 though, which is why I suggested a guild, as many guilds may boost you for free.

Well to get the easy ones out of the way, I currently would be playing solo as no one i know plays wow main reason im starting this late. My aim would be to reach the top-tier of endgame content. I mean in regards to a companion i'm unsure of, spell casting may be an ideal situation due to the creators i watch. I dont plan on having a close combat prowess.

I think what's more important at your stage is that you like the feel and the theme of a class.

#

You can always change class and spec later.

#

Almost no one actually mains their very first character.

#

However, Mage, Warlock, Druid, Hunter, Shaman and Priest are the main ranged classes.

#

Race doesn't really make that much of a difference, especially at higher levels. Pick something you think looks cool.

doesnt the complete edition include the epic version of shadowlands, an extra £15? i think youre better off looking at their base prices in your currency and seeing if you think its worth it

Like, the only way I'd ever use one is to boost a class I'm already comfortable with on the opposite faction, to get some faction-specific unlockables.

Main advantages of low pop is ease of scoring raid spawns, and better chance to end up in a top guild if you're good.

But that doesn't imo outweigh the better economy, faster queues, etc on a high pop server

at most you'll miss out on a buff from another class, or enemy de-buff (Warrior Battle Shout for 10% Attack Power as example of buff, and Demon Hunter's 5% magic damage taken increase as example of de-buff)

but you'll still be able to do just about all the same things with two of the same class or spec as DPS in your group

Hey all, brand new to WoW. I have been playing for the last 4 days leveling my undead rogue to level 50 before swapping over to a level 55 DK because I just love their theme and aesthetic! Addons will never be 'necessary' but there's some damn useful ones

#

Tomtom adds coordinates to the maps, and is pretty much mandatory for sharing location information

#

there's DBM if you need helpers on boss fights but you probably won't til max level content

#

the addon called GTFO that simply warns you when you're standing in fire

#

and it's a bit difficult to describe UDK playstyle at that level

#

since stuff like bursting sores, frenzy, epidemic, army (iirc) are all later levels

#

You aren't supposed to use it. Take the portal to Hellfire Peninsula from your capital city.

Unless you want to go to Draenor. In which case you need to start the quest from Kadghar or use the portal to Ashran or a garrison hearthstone.

@pallid fulcrum you don’t need to let your race/class limit your choice. I would take a look through what each profession does and see which one sounds most interesting/useful

Warfronts - 340+. Once per cycle quest Arathi 370+, Darkshore 400+.
Benthic - 385+. Upgraded with Prismatic Manapearls, up to 425. (Comes from Nazjatar)
8.3 Catch-up BoA - 410 (415 Azerite Armour).
The Eternal Palace - LFR 400+. Normal 415+, Heroic 430+. Mythic 445+
Against Overwhelming Odds - 445+ (only in war mode when your faction is under-represented.)
Uldum/Vale World Bosses - 445.
Heroic Warfront - 430+ Arathi from quest. 430+ Darkshore, 460+ from quest.
Dungeons - Normal 400+. Heroic 415+. Mythic 430+. Weekly Quest 460+.
Timewalking - Dungeon 425+. Weekly quest 445+. (Not always active).
Visions of N'zoth Invasion - One piece of gear close to your ilevel, scaling up to 440.
Horrific Visions - Main objective 420 (+5 per bonus objective). Increasing to 465/470 with Faceless Masks/all objectives.

So I've been playing on my shaman for a bit and I noticed that the Shaman's damage seems... very weak, at level 15 the highest damage I got was 50 (which was with the second cast of.... rockbiter) is this normal or has Shaman just been nerfed to all hell or something?

Hi - anybody willing to help me figure out an issue with my blood elf hunter? If I die, my battle pet (that comes with the character) turns into a companion (its title switches from user's pet to user's companion) and will not attack anymore. Ive tried reviving and healing it but the game just says "you do not have a pet." so it doesn't work. I can still see it next to me, but others cannot.

I do notice that the focus bar stays at 0 and will not regenerate so maybe that is the issue? But I have no idea how to make it regenerate

It's a 1% crit buff and some extra focus on a long cooldown. Maybe okay as marksman?

Undead isn't very good overall, unless you pvp.

That tiny bit of healing and CC immunity isn't going to save you in PvE

#

But seriously, picking the right race is like less than a 1% damage increase in most cases

Just go for what you like aesthetically.

Nelf depends on which time of the day you play, as they gain Haste or Crit depending on whether it's night or day.
Human just gain a straight-up 1% damage boost from extra versatility if I'm not mistaken.

And yeah, unless you're top-top-end, it doesn't matter in the slightest.

All racials are situationally useful (in most cases.)
Orc and Mag'har both have racials that do not nothing unless you have a pet
Nelf has one that only works with stealth
Nightborne requires you to do magic damage.
But all their actives are generally useful.

and other than those 4 passives, everything has a use.

Like an Undead is gonna have a little bit easier surviving, due to their passive Touch of the Grave Healing and active CC immunity.
A Blood Elf can support their team with an AoE Dispell.

And Gnomes are obviously the master race.

the biggest issue is if you want to try dungeons youre starting with harder ones, and with an entire toolkit straight away, when players normally get time to learn their class and how the game works

The shoulders are easy enough
Just do the Nazjatar intro and you should receive 385 Shoulders as a quest reward.
The trinket can be upgraded easily to 404 with some of the first mechagon quests.

I'm unsure if you need to have done anything to unlock them on your first character, but I doubt it.

Check to see if Nathanos (Horde) or Genn (Alliance) on your boat have a quest for you.
It won't be obvious from the quest text that it takes you to Nazjatar (as Genn doesn't know, and Nathanos doesn't want you to know.)

It should ask you to talk to Cyrus Crestfall (Alliance) or Captain Rez'okun (Horde)

also @pallid fulcrum depends what u want. Ranged in raid ( fire mage,bm hunter,Boomie, or warlock ) are the go to classes. But warlock in keys is not great and mage takes a lot of comunication between u and thet ank for cds in keys

You will struggle no matter which path you take so it's better to just go with what you want and learn as you go. You'll pick it up. Classes right now are fairly straightforward and with some help from wowhead, you won't take long to acclimate.

The way I approach the game when I come back and don't remember anything is just focus on using a couple of basic abilities until you become comfortable with them and then just keep reading your skills and adding new stuff to your rotation and sooner or later you'll learn the class.

Cloth which is for the caster classes (Mage, Priest, Warlock). This has the least defense of any armor and thus the casters should be far away from enemies as much as possible.

Leather is used by Monks, Druids, Rogues, and Demon Hunters. These are mobile fast-paced type classes, and have slightly MORE defense (but not a ton more, they mostly rely on mobility to keep themselves safe)

Mail is used by Hunters and Shamans. It's fine

and Plate is obviously for the heavy slow classes (Warrior and Paladin)
