Sylvanas never saw the Jailer when she "died" between WotLK and Cata : she saw "hell", she felt the presence of Arthas, and the Valkyr saved her, that's it. After that, she wanted to SURVIVE by NOT DYING thanks to the valkyrs to escape her afterlife fate (aka eternal torment).
And now, we are told that feeding people to the Maw was her plan all along ? That she knew the Jailer from back then ? That every decision she made was a 4D chess move ?
You can like the idea of the Shadowlands. Hell, you can even like the current state of twisling moustache 4D chess master Sylvanas, but know that it is indeed a retcon (after all, it's not the same team of writers) : she never saw the Jailer. You know why ? Because we were told what she saw when she died already (and obviously because the Jailer as an idea was created probably mid BfA). Hell, she even curses Voljin and his Loa for making her warchief. Amazing !
