It was intentionally vague, but she had been dead for a while, where true resurrection is typically shortly after a person died
and it very specifically involved an undead and a human channeling light into her
but she isnt true undead, shes an undead animated by light instead of the dark magic used to animate forsaken

Yeah, Calia is very much so an undead. The only peculiar thing is that she was raised with the Light. Basically they tried to resurrect her, and the Light brought her back in the form that she wanted. And that was in undead form, to feel closer to her own people.

It's why I don't like it when people use the term "Lightforged undead", that doesn't make any sense. "Lightforged" refers specifically to a draenei/naaru ritual, nothing to do with being raised. And when you are Lightforged are infused with the Light, and generally get golden eyes and other Holy elements.
But here she was just raised, by the Light. She doesn't have glowing, golden eyes like Lightforged draenei, she doesn't radiate Light like Lothraxion, she's just a normal undead, the only physical difference is that her eyes are a pure white/beige.

I'm curious what they want to do with Calia in general. Even if it does lead to an allied race, I doubt that'd be the only, or the main, purpose. They have been building her up for two expansions, they dedicated a whole novel to her, and they have been seeding her all throughout BFA. This has got to lead to somewhere big, it can't just be about getting Forsaken with pale eyes as an allied race which consists just of "some Forsaken decided to return to the Alliance, the end". They have bigger plans for her. Possibly involving Lordaeron, since that was her goal.
Fuck, what if, after having destroyed 2 capitals, they rebuilded new ones? Calia could rebuild Lordaeron. This may be too big but, yeah, I'm convinced there's more than just a reskinned visual customization option on the horizon.

I prefer the new heritage armor 100%, old one looked like a stretchy blurry mess. But I did prefer the old one's length. Ideally I'd take every aspect of the new one, but with the length of the old one
But then again I guess it's more realistic, mariners' outfits never go much below waist, knees at best.
If I had ONE wish though, it'd be different recolors, like the Mag'har armor. Red for Ashvane, green for Proudmoore, brown for Waycrest (?), and blue for Stormsong.

Deep sea jinyu fit the narrative for an allied race perfectly. They literally tick all the cases.
However, it entirely depends on whether they get a female model or not.
If they get one, we'll know they're an allied race. If we don't find one during datamining, they're probably not an allied race.

Skeletons are reused constantly. If it was a problem we wouldn't be getting allied races at all. Did you ever think that...nothing really looked nice or fit the pandaren skeleton? They use what will look good on said race or fit what the devs want.
As Quiet said, they narratively fit perfectly. I am not saying theyll be an AR, but they would be a nice choice.

Well, actually they do. See the proto-drake skeleton for example, which has been re-used 3-4 times so far, or the yeti one which has been re-used at least 5 times.
But these are all irrelevant frames of reference anyway since we're talking about allied races and allied races are meant to re-use skeletons. And hell, they already re-used the same skeleton twice, for two allied races. So a third time is just really not a stretch at all when that's the whole purpose of allied races, and when that never stopped them before for non-allied race models. So, don't give up! Though what Mind said about a female model is pretty perspicacious, I guess we'll know whether they'll be an allied race or not when we find out if they have a female model.
