I got a basic explanation yesterday from Marlamin that I’ll share here
There was a partial rebase
The patcher is fetching 5xx indices instead of 9xx
So it’s faster
But it seems like some of that resulted in missing files or other bugs
In the end it should mean faster updates and faster load times
But it’s clearly unfinished
The big noticeable things are a bunch of small bugs, and some weird pop in

Honestly, the gold eyes look better when they don’t have so much glow that you can’t see any detail in them, which was just a recolor of the DK eyes for male Belfs. I hope it’s not a bug or broken, because it actually looks good to not lose the eye behind absurd amounts of light xD

I mean, here’s a comparison of what it looked like before they threw the equivalent of the DK eyes onto it. I like the idea of them glowing, but not so insanely that you can’t even see their eyes behind it.

They only do on two instances. Seraphi and the other dude. All other high elves do not have glowing eyes. They even have a specific skin set for them that 'removes' the glow and leaves the pupils as shown on the yellow eyes above. Only in blue or purple.
Which canonically, elf eyes are't supposed to glow at all. Except for the Night Elves, High and Blood elves only glow when having absorbed an immense amount of magic. So those not actively draining it have no glow, while those that do have it.
