When the Netherdragons was found in TBC he out of rage of what they were, a magic consuming twisting nether race..he set to destroying all of them and there eggs...once he consumed all there magic he released his madness and started a new goal to ward magic again...this is why the Nexus war started he believed no one could use magic responsibly but his flight.
